About the role: CRU Consulting is seeking a Consultant to join its global consulting team. This role involves delivering bespoke, high-impact projects for clients across the mining, metals, and energy industries. Working alongside industry experts, you will contribute insightful analysis, accurate data, and practical recommendations on a wide range of confidential and commercially significant projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and analyse data from internal CRU sources and external sources
- Use data to structure and build models, including CRU’s proprietary models
- Carry out primary research and develop bespoke analysis to answer client questions
- Adapt and apply CRU methodologies to address unique project requirements
- Prepare high-quality report sections in CRU style
- Manage project sections or small projects, meeting agreed deadlines
- Collaborate with Consulting and wider CRU colleagues on project teams
- Participate in client meetings and support business development activity
Qualifications:
Ideal disciplines include Mining, Geology, Material Science, Metallurgy, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, Public Policy, Sustainability, or Business.
Skills & Experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong analytical ability to source, analyse, and model complex data
- Ability to identify trends, interpret patterns, and build clear client insight
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Strong IT skills, including MS Office: Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
- Fluent written and spoken English; additional languages advantageous
- Prior experience as an analyst or consultant in a commodity-based sector, preferably metals or mining
- Experience in a related commercial, investment, technical, governmental, manufacturing, or materials-focused role also considered
- Genuine interest in commodities markets
- Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working with ambiguity
- Inquisitive, eager to learn, and confident asking questions
- Strong problem-solving ability
- Collaborative team player who can also take initiative
