About the role:

We are seeking an Analyst, Lithium Assets to deliver trusted, market-shaping analysis and asset modelling for CRU's lithium services. This role combines rigorous research, data expertise and client engagement to provide actionable insights across the lithium value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop robust analysis, perspectives and content across lithium services within the role's remit.
  • Build a profile as a trusted commodity analyst through high-quality research, thought leadership and client engagement.
  • Balance customer-focused activity with analytical workflows to deliver timely, relevant insights.
  • Partner with Service Leads to identify new business opportunities and support client renewals.
  • Build enduring relationships with key accounts and industry participants across the lithium sector.
  • Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the lithium commodity sector and translate findings into accurate CRU data.
  • Contribute to asset modelling and analysis for relevant services.
  • Conduct primary and secondary research, including engagement with market, industry and institutional contacts.
  • Organise, maintain and update data series used in customer deliverables.
  • Support data standardisation across asset models and commodities.
  • Coordinate with technology, Economics and Market teams on data updates and delivery schedules.
  • Support model debugging and encourage effective use of AI tools for secondary research.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree from a top-tier institution.
  • Further education or certification in a subject relevant to commodity research or valuation is desirable, such as geology, economics or mining engineering.

Skills & Experience:

  • More than one year of experience in industry or research roles directly related to lithium or other relevant commodities.
  • Knowledge of commodity supply chains, cost drivers and market dynamics.
  • Ability to communicate complex analysis confidently and clearly with clients, industry participants and internal teams.
  • Strong capability to gather and critically assess qualitative and quantitative data, identify key trends and develop distinctive insights.
  • Highly numerate, with the ability to interpret, manipulate and manage large data sets and apply mathematical concepts.
  • Experience or interest in asset modelling, commodity research and data management.
  • Collaborative approach, with the initiative and drive to work independently while contributing effectively to a global team.
  • Ability to build credibility, trust and productive working relationships across a range of stakeholders.
