You will hold a personal lending mandate, making well-informed decisions while helping shape credit policy, support junior team members, and contribute to a robust risk culture.

What You’ll Do:

  • Independently assess and sanction complex credit proposals.
  • Analyse new and existing transactions across Development Finance and (ideally) Bridging & BTL.
  • Present high-quality credit assessments to Credit Committees and senior stakeholders.
  • Support ongoing portfolio reviews and deep dives into sector risk trends.
  • Guide and mentor junior underwriters, and help develop credit risk capabilities.
  • Input into credit policy, frameworks, and risk appetite evolution.
  • Assist with early warning indicators and emerging risk identification.
  • Participate in committee processes and risk governance responsibilities.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience in real estate credit underwriting and lending sanctioning.
  • Deep knowledge of Development Finance; bridging and specialist mortgages (BTL, HMO, PBSA) a plus.
  • Proven track record of operating under a personal lending authority.
  • Strong commercial and property market insight, with deep financial analysis capabilities.
  • Understanding of regulatory expectations, risk frameworks, and portfolio risk.
  • Preferably degree qualified with a professional qualification (e.g. ACIB or similar).
  • Excellent judgment, decision-making, and communication skills.

What’s on Offer:

  • Work in a high-impact role.
  • Join a forward-thinking, collaborative credit risk function.
