Location: London – 3 days a week

My client is an established and profitable Fintech with a fantastic 9 years of trading in the UK behind them. After closing a large funding round and hitting 100 people, they are now in scale-up mode, creating an exciting time to join the business. They are B2C focused with motivations of allowing consumers to understand all of their wealth and financial needs in one place. This started with savings, now investments, and is going to continue growing as they develop. We have large goals for 2025 including a 4X customer base in the UK.

This role will play a crucial part in aligning marketing content, financial promotions, and mobile push notifications with FCA handbook legislation. We are looking for a creative, innovative compliance manager who wants to find 'How' and 'Yes' when marketing suggests campaigns. You will champion FCA guidelines with a mindset of adapting and changing to fit in the legislation whilst enabling customer acquisition and business growth.

You will work with a close-knit compliance team, a fantastic MLRO/Director of Compliance, and will have autonomy to build the financial promotions arena from a standing start.

As the Compliance Manager – Financial Promotions, your responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Helping the business take a compliant approach to innovation within new financial promotions and content publication across all products and channels.
  • Working within regulatory requirements to review, challenge, and approve mobile app content, website copy, thought leadership blogs or videos, and any other marketing material.
  • Reviewing and updating policies or procedures to help the business generate the most effective content to help our customers make informed decisions while remaining within regulatory requirements.
  • Measuring our success in publishing clear, fair, and non-misleading content through reviews of customer feedback, complaints, and other data points to ensure we’re constantly publishing the highest quality content.
  • Horizon scanning and reviewing FOS or FCA publications to ensure learning from what’s happening in the market and acting in a responsible manner with our content creation.
  • Building strong relationships with 1LoD, especially Marketing and Growth teams, to deliver a collaborative working environment between Compliance and the business, providing advice and guidance as needed.
  • Reviewing opportunities to improve financial promotion controls through the use of AI and technology to support current processes.

Essential Skills and Competencies of the Compliance Manager – Financial Promotions:

  • Experience working within financial promotions for a UK based B2C Fintech Company.
  • Must be comfortable in making judgement calls based on a solid and up-to-date regulatory knowledge of financial promotions and marketing.
  • Good knowledge of the FCA handbook.
  • We are looking for a creative innovator, so keen to hear examples when you have championed initiatives for marketing to structure financial promotions within FCA regulations which have reaped acquisition rewards for the business.
  • Strong communication skills with internal teams.
