We’re working with a growing specialist property finance lender who are expanding their credit function and looking to appoint a Senior Underwriter to play a key role in deal structuring, credit decisioning and team development. This is a hands-on role with real influence — ideal for someone who enjoys complex lending, taking ownership of decisions and mentoring junior talent.

The Opportunity

  • Lead underwriting on bridging & development finance transactions
  • Structure and assess complex deals from enquiry through to completion
  • Present credit papers and contribute at Credit Committee level
  • Support and mentor a Junior Underwriter
  • Play a key role in improving underwriting processes as the business scales

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Assess new lending opportunities in line with credit appetite
  • Analyse borrower strength, financials and exit strategies
  • Review valuations, IMS reports and supporting documentation
  • Structure deals with clear risk mitigation
  • Manage transactions through to completion and first drawdown
  • Monitor live loans including development drawdowns
  • Build strong relationships with brokers, borrowers and external partners
  • Act as an escalation point for complex cases

What They’re Looking For

  • Strong background in bridging and/or development finance underwriting
  • Proven ability to structure and assess deals independently
  • Experience presenting credit papers and supporting committee decisions
  • Commercial mindset with sound credit judgement
  • Comfortable managing multiple deals and stakeholders
  • Previous mentoring or leadership experience is a plus
