About the Business Development Manager – Broker/ Introducer focused

My client is a fast-growing direct to business lender in the UK, founded in 2020. They pride themselves on cutting the red tape, reducing the paperwork, and eliminating the hassle to get small businesses the finance their business needs fast. They built a bespoke tech platform which allows for easy and accurate decision making that enables an application, approval and funding to all take place within 1-2 days. The company culture is refreshing! Work hard, have fun, no fast-moving, high growth. It’s a career driven organization with lots of chance to progress and learn along the way whilst being part of an exciting period of growth.

Responsibilities and duties will include:

  • Generating lending opportunities through professional introducers – Over 80% of the current lending deals come from Brokers, Solicitors, Accountants etc.
  • Building relationships with current introducer panel to ensure your products are 1st in their mind when they are working with their SME Business customers.
  • Representing the brand in the industry – Goal is to bring new introducers on board.
  • Reaching out to β€˜Tier 2’ introducers on the panel with the goal of increasing lending volumes.
  • Building rapport, educating the partner on our appetite and the type of lending we like to see.
  • Working with the introducers to ensure full case is submitted into underwriting to ensure quick turnaround & lending approval.

Key to success:

  • Proactive nature, the current team of 2 are over exceeding target so you will have good people to learn from.
  • Building genuine long-standing relationships with Partners – Trust is key!
  • Educating yourself on product & being able to confidently pitch USP.
  • Balancing your pipeline, ensuring you are nurturing at each stage.

Essential Skills and Competencies:

  • SME Lending knowledge – Either from a Brokerage or Lender.
  • Proven success in a start-up / scale-up organisation.
  • Previous experience building professional relationships.
  • Analytical mindset – Ability to analyse what a good deal looks like.
