Please note: This is a 100% office-based role. As the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing a high-performance sales culture, recruiting, training, and coaching team members, the role requires a visible leadership presence in the office 5 days per week.

My client is an exciting and ambitious technology-led business operating within the EPOS and payments sector. With significant growth plans ahead, they are looking for talented individuals who want to build, develop, and progress alongside the business.

This is a unique opportunity to join a growing business as the first sales leadership hire, working directly with the CEO to shape the sales culture, processes, and team structure. You'll have the autonomy to make a significant impact while benefiting from excellent earning potential through an uncapped commission structure.

The Role

Initially, this role will operate as a player-coach position, combining personal sales performance with leadership responsibilities. You will lead by example, generating revenue while establishing the foundations for a scalable sales operation. As the team grows, your focus will transition into a dedicated management role, overseeing a team of sales executives and driving overall sales performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive a high-performance sales culture focused on activity, accountability, and results.
  • Personally generate new business opportunities and revenue through outbound sales activity.
  • Lead from the front, setting standards for sales excellence and customer engagement.
  • Monitor and manage KPIs, pipeline activity, conversion rates, and team performance.
  • Implement sales processes and best practices to maximise results.

Team Building & Development

  • Recruit, onboard, and develop a team of junior sales professionals.
  • Create and deliver training programmes to build sales capability and confidence.
  • Coach and mentor team members to achieve and exceed performance targets.
  • Foster a positive, energetic, and results-driven team environment.

Strategy & Growth

  • Work closely with the CEO to develop and execute sales growth strategies.
  • Provide regular reporting, forecasting, and performance insights.
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the sales function, including systems, processes, and structure.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and business growth.

About You

  • Proven experience in sales management, call centre management, or outbound sales leadership.
  • Demonstrable track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets.
  • Experience recruiting, coaching, and developing sales teams.
  • Comfortable operating in a player-coach capacity within a growing business.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and motivational skills.
