As part of continued growth, they are seeking an experienced and driven M&E Manager/Coordinator to join their team.
Role Overview
The M&E Manager/Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the Mechanical & Electrical aspects of our construction projects from pre-construction through to completion. The ideal candidate will be mechanically qualified, with proven experience across both mechanical and electrical disciplines. You will be a key liaison between the design team, subcontractors, and site teams to ensure M&E installations are delivered to the highest standards of quality, compliance, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Oversight: Ensure M&E installations meet current building regulations, statutory requirements, and best industry practice.
- Design & Coordination: Work with pre-construction and design teams to review M&E designs, highlight clarifications, and manage coordination between disciplines.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of M&E legislation, British Standards, and Building Control requirements, ensuring full compliance throughout project lifecycles.
- Site Management: Provide support on-site during installation phases, verifying works are progressing in line with drawings, specifications, and programme.
- Decarbonisation & Sustainability: Apply experience in low-carbon technologies and energy-efficient systems to promote decarbonisation across projects.
- Communication & Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for M&E matters between design consultants, contractors, clients, and internal teams.
- Quality & Process Management: Drive process-led management of M&E works, implementing and maintaining QA procedures, commissioning plans, and handover documentation.
- Problem Solving: Address technical issues proactively, offering sound and practical solutions to maintain momentum and quality on site.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in M&E management/co-ordination roles in the construction industry.
- Competent in both mechanical and electrical disciplines (mechanical bias preferred).
- Strong understanding of M&E building regulations, British Standards, and Building Control processes.
- Knowledge of M&E design principles, with the ability to interpret and review design drawings/specifications.
- Experience working with pre-construction teams to identify and resolve design gaps or ambiguities.
- Practical knowledge of sustainable systems and decarbonisation strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Highly organised, process driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities.
- Hands-on site experience, able to engage with trades, monitor installation quality, and manage subcontractor interfaces.
Qualifications
- Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent).
- SMSTS or SSSTS (preferred).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
