Graduate Site Engineer
The Role: We are looking for a Graduate as part of schemes in Derbyshire. You will be responsible for the day to day surveying and setting out duties on sites across East Midlands / Derby. The successful candidate will be given the opportunity to gain experience in other departments including temporary works design, planning and estimating as part of an approved Institution of Civil Engineers training scheme.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering control
Setting out of civil engineering and building works on various sites within the companys operating area.
Understand and interpret the drawings and specifications.
Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties and other problems that may arise at any time.
Communicating and liaising effectively with colleagues, Thinking both creatively and logically to resolve design and development problems.
Health, Safety and Environment
Maintain standards of safety and comply with the companys health, safety and environment management system requirements.
Take reasonable care of own health and safety and that of others in the workplace.
Quality control
Ensure quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with specification.
Assist with compilation of as built drawings.
Interacts with stakeholders around specific work efforts and deliverables.
Able to work within a given budget.
Key measures & targets:
Accurate and timely setting out of the works
Timely handover of works and Quality records without outstanding defects
Key relationships:
Develop friendly and professional relations with site workforce and the customer\’s technical representative.
Person Specification: The successful candidate is likely to meet all of the following criteria:
Essential
Newly graduated or due to graduate
Relevant work placement experience advantageous but not essential.
Civil Engineering degree or equivalent.
Held student membership of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Excellent communication skills.
Self-driven
Positive outlook
