Client Relationship & Business Development Manager - Design & Build

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager with a strong background in the Design & Build, commercial interiors or construction sector.

This is a relationship-led role focused on developing long-term partnerships rather than transactional sales.

You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, building trusted relationships with clients, consultants and industry partners, and working closely with our internal design, estimating and delivery teams to develop winning solutions.

Success in this role comes from understanding clients' businesses, uncovering opportunities early and becoming a trusted advisor throughout the project journey.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Build Long-Term Client Relationships
  • Develop meaningful relationships with new and existing clients.
  • Engage with occupiers, landlords, project managers, architects and consultants early in the project lifecycle.
  • Understand client objectives, workplace challenges and business drivers.
  • Become a trusted adviser who clients return to for future projects.
  • Generate Design & Build Opportunities
  • Identify new Design & Build, refurbishment and fit-out opportunities across commercial, industrial, education and healthcare sectors.
  • Build and maintain a healthy pipeline through networking, referrals, market intelligence and industry events.
  • Qualify opportunities and develop strategies to maximise win rates.
  • Manage opportunities from initial enquiry through to contract award.
  • Collaborate with Internal Teams
  • Work closely with our Design, Estimating and Operations teams to develop tailored solutions.
  • Ensure client requirements are communicated effectively throughout the bid process.
  • Contribute ideas during design development to maximise value for clients.
  • Support smooth project handovers while maintaining client relationships.
  • Develop Strategic Partnerships
  • Build relationships with architects, project managers, consultants, developers and supply chain partners.
  • Identify partnership opportunities that generate repeat business.
  • Represent CRS Interiors professionally at networking events.
  • Market & Business Development
  • Monitor market trends and identify emerging opportunities.
  • Promote CRS Interiors' Design & Build capability and collaborative approach.
  • Support marketing initiatives through client engagement and case studies.
  • Performance & Reporting
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline using Capsule CRM.
  • Provide regular forecasts and updates to the leadership team.
  • Work towards agreed KPIs for opportunity generation, client engagement and secured revenue.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in Design & Build, commercial fit-out, workplace consultancy business development.
  • Strong understanding of the Design & Build process from enquiry to delivery.
  • Excellent relationship-building and networking skills.
  • Commercial awareness with strong negotiation skills.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • CRM and Microsoft Office experience.
  • Existing network within commercial interiors or construction.
  • Understanding of workplace design trends and sustainability.
  • Knowledge of procurement routes and tender processes.
  • Experience working alongside design and estimating teams.
