A growing and well-established engineering service business is seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join its Doncaster team. This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically minded candidate looking to build a long-term career with full training, recognised qualifications, and strong earning potential.
Previous experience with hydraulics or hydraulic hoses would be advantageous, although candidates with general mechanical aptitude and a strong work ethic are encouraged to apply.
The Role
Following an initial fully paid two-week training program, the successful candidate will gain a City & Guilds qualification and receive the tools and support needed to succeed in the role. Once trained, the candidate will operate a company van, attending customer sites across the region to repair and maintain machinery, delivering high levels of service and technical support.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend customer call-outs to diagnose and repair machinery
- Install, service, and replace hydraulic hoses and related components
- Promote company products and services to existing and prospective customers
- Maintain stock levels within the company service vehicle
- Carry out routine vehicle checks and ensure the van is clean, organised, and fully operational
- Complete all relevant paperwork and technical documentation accurately
- Support colleagues across the wider business when required
- Adhere to all health & safety policies and PPE requirements
Candidate Requirements
- Mechanical fitting / maintenance experience or strong mechanical aptitude
- Experience with hydraulics or hoses advantageous but not essential
- Full UK driving licence required
- Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Good manual dexterity and practical problem-solving skills
- Professional and reliable attitude
