Capture the vibrant energy of Croydon Pride 2026!

We need an experienced volunteer photographer to cover our Pride Parade (10 15am) and live BOXPARK stage (1pm–11 30pm).

Showcase our community, performances, and BSL accessibility to power our future marketing and press.

Shifts available!

What difference will you make?

As a volunteer-led charity, securing annual corporate sponsorships (such as Superdrug Wellbeing and Savers) is vital to keeping the event 100% free.

Professional photographs showing prominent brand placement alongside engaged, happy crowds give us concrete proof of return on investment (ROI) needed to retain current partners and secure new corporate sponsors for 2027.

Grant Applications & Council Reporting

Grant makers, local authorities, and national funding bodies require hard evidence of impact before awarding future funding.

High-resolution imagery documenting high attendance, diversity, local economic vibrancy, and key accessibility provisions (like BSL interpreters on stage) provides the essential visual proof needed for post-event impact reports and grant applications.

Immediate PR & Media Reach

Media outlets, local newspapers, and digital publications need professional, high-resolution hero images immediately after the event to cover the story.

Delivering rapid-turnaround shots on Sunday morning ensures Croydon Pride secures valuable local press coverage while the event is still fresh news.

Community Engagement & 2027 Marketing

Authentic, high-energy photos drive our year-round digital presence.

Capturing genuine moments of joy, inclusion, and safety across the parade and BOXPARK builds trust within the LGBTQIA+ community, attracts volunteers for future initiatives, and forms the foundational creative assets for our 2027 promotional campaigns.

What are we looking for?

  • Professional Experience & Technical Skills
  • Event & Action Photography An experience capturing fast-moving events, live stage performances, or crowd gatherings.
  • Low-Light Capability Familiarity with dynamic indoor lighting conditions (such as stage lights inside BOXPARK) and the technical ability to shoot crisp images without heavy digital noise or harsh flash.
  • Composition & Framing A sharp eye for candid storytelling, capturing authentic emotion, small detail shots, and natural sponsor integration without making photos feel overly staged.
  • Post-Processing & Speed Proficiency in photo editing software (e. g., Adobe Lightroom or Photoshop) with the workflow capacity to deliver a rapid-turnaround batch of edited hero shots within 24 hours.
  • Equipment Standards
  • Professional Kit Ownership of a full-frame DSLR or mirrorless camera body along with versatile lenses (e. g., wide-angle for parade crowds and telephoto for stage close-ups).
  • Backup & Storage Sufficient high-speed memory cards and extra batteries to manage continuous shooting across a multi-hour outdoor and indoor event.
  • Interpersonal Qualities & Values
  • Commitment to Inclusion & LGBTQIA+ Allyship A respectful, warm, and welcoming approach that reflects Croydon Pride’s core values of equality, safety, and diversity.
  • Discretion & Consent Consciousness Sensitivity when photographing attendees, particularly around vulnerable individuals, youth, or those who prefer not to be filmed/photographed in crowd spaces.
  • Reliability & Communication Punctual, responsive, and able to work independently against a provided shot list while staying in contact with the comms team on the day.

What will you be doing?

  • The Pride Parade (10 15 AM – 12 30 PM)
  • Pre-Parade Muster Capture the anticipation, group photos, float setups, and assembly at the meeting point.
  • The March Photograph crowd interactions, vibrant outfits, banners, and dynamic movement as marchers move along the route.
  • Key Figures Ensure clear shots of community leaders, parade marshals, and partner groups at the front of the march.
  • Main Stage & BOXPARK (1 00 PM – 11 30 PM)
  • Live Stage Coverage Capture headline acts, guest hosts, acoustic sets, and crowd responses under changing venue lighting.
  • Accessibility Features Document our BSL interpreters in action on stage alongside the performers.
  • Crowd & Atmosphere Photograph candid moments of joy, families, friends, and attendees enjoying the food, drinks, and spaces.
  • Sponsor & Partner Recognition Natural, organic shots showing sponsor branding and community stalls across the venue.
  • Deliverables & Post-Event Deadlines
  • Next-Day Teasers (15-20 Photos) Deliver a curated batch of fully edited 'hero' shots by Sunday morning (16 August) for press releases and immediate social media updates.
  • Full Photo Gallery Supply the complete, high-resolution edited photo set (JPEG) via Google Drive or We Transfer within 7 days for future marketing, website use, and sponsor reports.
