The Role:

Lead a thriving Mathematics Department and inspire girls to develop confidence, curiosity and a lifelong appreciation of Mathematics.

As Head of Mathematics, you will lead a department of five dedicated teaching staff, with specialist classrooms and a strong culture of mathematical enrichment. Mathematics is one of the most popular A level subjects at Croydon High school, and you will have the opportunity to build on this success, further develop interest in Further Mathematics and support pupils preparing for competitive university entry. From problem-solving in the younger years to IGCSE, A level, UKMT challenges and wider enrichment, you will champion excellence across the mathematical journey while developing your colleagues and contributing to the school’s academic and pastoral life.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and accomplished Mathematics teacher with the ability to teach up to A level and a proven track record of academic success. You will bring leadership potential, sound judgement and organisational skills to manage a successful department, alongside a commitment to inclusive teaching and high standards.

A well-qualified graduate in a relevant subject, you will hold QTS or be willing to gain the qualification within a reasonable period. Above all, you will be able to inspire pupils, motivate colleagues and contribute positively to the caring and supportive ethos of Croydon High School.
