Hours: 40 per week (including 1:8 on-call commitments in either critical care unit or theatres)
Department: Anaesthetics & Critical Care
Reports to: Anaesthetic Lead and Divisional Lead; Accountable to: Anaesthesia Divisional Lead
General Responsibilities
- Support the Anaesthesia and ITU departments in day-to-day activities.
- Active engagement in the general workload of the department.
- Provide pre-operative anaesthetic assessment clinics access.
- Perform general anaesthesia for ASA 1-4 patients in elective and emergency surgery.
- Provide paediatric anaesthesia experience for patients aged five and over; TIVA experience.
- Regional anaesthesia with ultrasound-guided techniques training.
- Obstetric anaesthesia with 3 months experience including management of ASA 3 parturients.
- Resuscitation and management of critically ill patients.
