We are pleased to offer an exciting internal opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 nurse to join the team as a Practice Development Nurse. This role will support the development and delivery of high-quality clinical education and professional development initiatives across the service with a key focus on Professional Standards. The successful candidate/s will work closely with clinical teams to promote best practice, enhance staff competencies, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • To promote within the wards a learning environment that optimises each staff’s clinical development and facilitates a best practice principle for patient care that is evidence based.
  • Be a role model and maintain clinical expertise to support learners, support teaching and assessment of learning in the practice area.
  • Work in the clinical environment for up to 80% of contracted hours providing holistic direct nursing care alongside other staff needing support and development. Up to 20% of time will be required to teach on development programmes and plan educational support.
  • Under the supervision of the Band 7 Practice Educators to develop/contribute to the development teaching materials and presentations.
  • Provide specialist nursing advice, supporting and facilitating high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with the local and national targets.
  • Ensure that care of the patient and their relatives is of the highest standard and based on best practice guidelines.
  • Demonstrates the ability to personally be a role model in providing a high standard of care based on the best evidence.
  • To work within CUH local protocols and guidelines and the Trust Quality Standards.
