The Occupational Therapy Technician post is based in the integrated Adult Community Occupational Therapy team. Our team works alongside social work colleagues with an office base in Central Croydon. There is a high demand for Community Occupational Therapy, and so this is a busy role that requires you to be efficient and effective. You will need to be independent in travelling around the borough. We are a supportive and committed team, you will receive regular supervision and support.
Responsibilities
- To be responsible for assessing the functional needs of adults in their homes and in a community setting, in line with all relevant legislation e.g. the Care Act 2014, and in accordance with the Trust and Council’s policies and procedures.
- To make recommendations and implement a wide range of simple cost effective interventions to meet individuals’ assessed need in accordance with an agreed care plan, to optimise client function and quality of life.
- To be an actively participating member of the specialist ACOT team, contributing positively to the overall function of the department, supporting the role of Occupational Therapists.
- To ensure that intervention is responsive, and sensitive to the social, cultural, linguistic and religious needs of clients in accordance with equal opportunity policies.
- To be a highly effective communicator demonstrating effective verbal and written skills.
