Role Overview
The dietitian will be an integral part of the Tier 3 obesity service, working closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate evidence‑based weight management programmes for residents of Croydon.
Responsibilities
- Deliver dietetic support to patients as part of the T3 pathway.
- Work collaboratively with the T3 MDT and partner agencies to utilise local support initiatives.
- Participate in triage processes and deliver group sessions, motivational interviewing and individual assessments throughout the programme.
- Assist with specific projects and work areas identified by the Head of Dietetics and the MDT.
- Provide teaching and education sessions to healthcare professionals and carers.
- Regularly audit work to demonstrate the impact of teaching on health outcomes.
- Manage the organisation and ordering of dietary resources and ancillary items, and help develop new resources for the service.
- Engage in continuous professional development, clinical audit, in‑service training, clinical supervision and attend relevant internal and external training courses; complete an annual Personal Development Plan and achieve all objectives.
- Communicate effectively with all members of the T3 MDT and the extended dietetic team; obtain patient consent, use appropriate language and respect patients\’ religious, cultural and social needs.
- Manage and prioritise workload and time effectively.
