Reporting to the Patient Safety Lead, this post forms part of the Patient Safety Team to support thedelivery of the Trust\’s Quality Strategy and vision to ensure \’Excellent Care for all\’ through the delivery ofsafe, effective and high quality services, that ensure the people who use our services, their families,carers and visitors receive a positive experience.

Main duties of the job

Delivering the day to day systems and processes to support effective patient safety across theTrust, providing support and information to staff to deliver trust wide systems and processes.Supporting a culture that improves quality by enabling the delivery of high quality care through theeffective identification of lessons/areas for improvement and promotion of learning as a result ofdata analysis and investigation, using audit and evaluation cycles to seek assurance.

About us

Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital.

CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough\’s only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home birthing team.

Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery.

Our experienced district nursing teams, Allied Health Professionals and community matrons look after for people of all ages across Croydon and our Children\’s Hospital at Home cares for children with long-term conditions without them having to come to hospital.

We are a very close-knit and friendly organisation where everyone of our 3600 members of staff is valued. We strongly believe that our employees are our greatest asset.

Person Specification

Education and Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or higher, or relevant experience in the field of quality and patient safety.
  • Previous Experience within the NHS

Knowledge and understanding

  • Knowledge of NHS Quality and Patient Safety acquired through training and experience
  • Knowledge of using a database and making judgements about the data entered
  • Experience of working to deadlines and managing processes to deadlines
  • Experience of providing information in a clear and concise manner.
  • Experience of reporting against Performance indicators and quality metrics
  • Experience of working in the NHS in a clinical or administrative role
  • Experience of producing reports and analysing data
