Responsibilities:

  • Assess functional needs of adults in their home environment.
  • Recommend and implement an occupational therapy plan to optimise function and quality of life.
  • Ensure that assessment and intervention are culturally sensitive.
  • Contribute to the overall operation of the service.
  • Support the team’s development in specific areas of community occupational therapy (e.g., intake and duty, complex manual handling, major adaptations).
  • Supervise and mentor occupational therapists and occupational therapy technicians.
  • Assess and support clients through the major adaptation process, including liaising with housing and surveyors, and working with council.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Highly specialist Occupational Therapist with extensive experience of working in community adult social care.
  • Experience in adult social care including the major adaptations process and complex manual handling.
  • Skilled with standard and specialist equipment.
  • Experience teaching others and delivering presentations.
  • Highly effective communicator with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
  • Offers line management and supervision to occupational therapists and occupational therapy technicians.
