Overview
The post holder is responsible for tracking the progress of cancer patients through care services (e.g. Radiology and Pathology) and core services (e.g. Health Records). They will co-ordinate Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings to facilitate the provision of care and core services. They will provide administrative support to these meetings, ensuring that all relevant information is available to enable clinical decisions to be made and recorded according to evidence-based protocols. The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will provide expertise in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly. The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients pathway of care, working alongside consultants and cancer nurse specialists as well as Trusts. This role also involves working closely with consultants.
Responsibilities
- Track the progress of cancer patients through care services and core services, coordinating information to enable timely clinical decisions.
- Coordinate Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) meetings and provide administrative support to ensure information is available to enable decision making and recording according to evidence-based protocols.
- Act as the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to the patient pathway of care, working alongside consultants, cancer nurse specialists, and trusts.
- Collaborate with colleagues to manage the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring smooth operation of the entire pathway.
