This is an exciting opportunity to join our Cyber Security Team. Reporting to the Cyber Security Manager, this role is responsible for providing Cyber Security technical expertise and operational support for the Trust Digital Services Department as a subject matter expert. This role will encompass day to day operations and project work in supporting the Trust to meet its Cyber Security Agenda, Framework and Strategy to deliver secure digital services operations in line with established legislation/directives, industry best practice and the assertions outlined in the NHS England Data Security Protection Toolkit.

Main duties of the job:

  • Maintaining systems used by the Cyber Security Team ensuring upgrades of the systems/servers and related software is undertaken within an agreed programme of maintenance.
  • Assist with operating and monitoring specific core Cyber Security systems and their related activity including performance, capacity and connectivity in order to ensure the security function operates in a pro-active manner enforcing and delivering Digital Services policy, procedures and processes.
  • Receive, investigate, remediate/action and record alerts to completion status as received from various sources.
  • Support Trust responses to NHS England High Severity Alerts cyber security alerts, ensuring the responses are in line with DSPT timescales.
  • Contribute technical expertise, advice and support regarding cyber security threats and vulnerabilities, policies, standards, procedures, processes and strategies.
  • Conduct complex data analysis and investigations including phishing and malware analysis, report findings and put forward conclusions and recommendations as appropriate.

Croydon Health Services provides integrated NHS services to care for people at home, in schools, and health clinics across the borough as well as at Croydon University Hospital and Purley War Memorial Hospital. CUH provides more than 100 specialist services and is home to the borough's only Emergency Department and 24/7 maternity services, including a labour ward, midwifery-led birth centre and the Crocus home birthing team. Purley War Memorial Hospital (PWMH) in the south of the borough offers outpatient care, including diagnostic services, physiotherapy and ophthalmology services run by Moorfields Eye Hospital, alongside an onsite GP surgery. Our experienced district nursing teams, Allied Health Professionals and community matrons look after for people of all ages across Croydon and our Children's Hospital at Home cares for children with long-term conditions without them having to come to hospital. Person Specification:

Essential: Degree in a technology discipline, or relevant experience in a technical or security role; ITIL Foundation qualification; Commitment to continuing professional development.

Desirable: One or more IT security qualifications, such as CISSP, CISM, CISMP, Certified Ethical Hacker, Security+ CompTIA/ CompTIA A+, CISCO/Microsoft Information security risk management qualification, including CRISC, Project management qualification.
