An exciting opportunity is available for a Clinical Psychologist to lead our Cancer Psychological Support (CAPS) team at Croydon. We are seeking a motivated and forward-thinking clinician with a passion for cancer care and experience supporting patients with complex psychological needs.
About the Service: The CAPS team provides therapy, group workshops, and staff training, working closely with cancer services to deliver high-quality psychological support.
Role Responsibilities:
- Lead and supervise the psychological support team.
- Deliver Level 4 psychological care to patients with complex needs.
- Support cancer professionals in managing psychological challenges.
- Contribute to service development and meeting key targets.

Main duties of the job:
- To work as a core member and with peers within Cancer Psychological Services (CaPS) to ensure the systematic provision of a high quality specialist psychological assessment and intervention service to cancer patients at Croydon Health Services (CHS).
- To provide a consultation service to staff to promote psychosocial knowledge and service development relevant to patient, family and staff care in a highly specialist medical area.
- To participate in the development and delivery of psychological services for cancer and palliative care across Croydon Health Services.
- To provide support to developments and inter-agency working within the South West London Cancer Alliance.
- To supervise and support the psychological assessment and therapy provided by other psychological practitioners and other clinical staff who provide psychologically based care and treatment.
- To provide line management of other qualified psychologists in liaison with the service lead and HoD for Neuropsychology and Clinical Health.
- To carry out audit, policy and service development, and research and development (R&D).
- To further the practice of Clinical Psychology through the development and implementation of R&D programmes, evaluation, policy and service development, audit and clinical governance.

Person Specification:
- Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology, HCPC-registered.
- Expertise in advanced psychological assessments, formulation, and evidence-based interventions.
- Strong supervision and mentoring capabilities.
- Effective consultant to healthcare teams, with excellent communication skills.
- Evidence of working across networks.
- Experience in Cancer and palliative care.
