The Croydon Health Integrated Safeguarding Team are looking for a dynamic, highly motivated Associate Director for Safeguarding to join and lead our integrated safeguarding team which comprises of adult, children and maternity safeguarding and children looked after services across both acute and community sites. As the Associate Director of Safeguarding, you will have a key role in shaping our safeguarding and children looked after (CLA) agenda, working closely with the integrated Specialist and Named Professionals to ensure appropriate quality assurance mechanisms are in place, demonstrating compliance with statutory requirements alongside improved outcomes for our most vulnerable and at risk patients and clients.
The post holder will provide professional leadership and specialist expertise with regards to safeguarding within CHS and across the Croydon System, working with key stakeholders on a national, regional and local basis, including NHSE. You will hold a professional registration (registered nurse or midwife). Job overview
Leading on Trust achievement of statutory standards for Safeguarding and Children Looked After and the safeguarding quality assurance process to provide assurance of compliance with statutory duties to the Trust and external partners. This will include close working with senior colleagues and the Patient Safety Team. To promote good practice and effective communication within the organisation and also with external stakeholders including Croydon Integrated Care Board (ICB)/SWL ICB, Croydon Council, NHSE, and all external agencies on all matters relating to safeguarding.
The post holder will have oversight of the completion Statutory Safeguarding Review process (including Children’s Safeguarding Practice Reviews, Domestic Homicide/Domestic Abuse Related Death Reviews and Safeguarding Adult Reviews), ensuring a collaborative approach is taken and embedding of learning and improved practice across the system. The post holder will act independently, decisively, and effectively within all portfolio areas and being able to challenge current thinking positively and creatively in order to develop new and better policy and operational working practices.

You must have appropriate UK professional registration. This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
