Principal Accountant – Chief Accountant’s Team

Compensation

Salary range: Grade 14 (£53,172 to £55,323) plus benefits.

Croydon

Contract & Hours

Permanent, 36 hours per week.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head of Strategic Finance and the Finance Manager (Closing/Reporting); deputise when required.
• Ensure the Council’s annual accounts are produced on time and meet required legislative standards.
• Maintain an open and positive relationship with the external auditor.

Qualifications

• CCAB or CIMA accountancy qualification, or senior finance/accounting experience.
• Demonstrated knowledge of local government finance, relevant legislation, professional accountancy codes and financial best practice.
