Salary range: Grade 7 £38,256 - £39,276 (Pro Rata) p.a. plus fantastic benefits


Contract: Permanent

Location: Croydon


Are you passionate about teaching swimming and making sport accessible for everyone? We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Swimming Teacher to deliver high-quality, inclusive swimming lessons for children and young people, including those with additional needs and disabilities, across community programmes and initiatives.


As a Swimming Teacher, you will plan and deliver engaging, safe and progressive lessons at various locations across the borough. You will be responsible for ensuring the safety and wellbeing of participants at all times, creating a positive learning environment and supporting children and young people to develop confidence and skills in the water.



Person Specification



  • Minimum ASA Level 1 Swimming Teacher qualification (or equivalent).

  • Understanding of swim teaching and coaching techniques.

  • Swim teacher rescue/lifeguard qualification desirable.

  • Experience working with children and young people, ideally including those with additional needs and disabilities.

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.

  • Ability to plan and deliver enjoyable, inclusive and progressive lessons

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Commitment to equality, diversity and ongoing professional development.



Additional Information


This is a casual position with flexible hours, including afternoons, evenings, weekends and school holiday periods. Successful candidates must be able to travel independently across the borough and will be required to undertake an Enhanced DBS check.



Join our Sport & Leisure team and play a key role in helping children and young people develop lifelong skills, confidence and a love of swimming.
