Tenancy Sustainment Manager

Croydon Housing is looking for an experienced Tenancy Sustainment Manager to lead a specialist service supporting some of our most vulnerable residents to sustain their tenancies and live safely in their homes. This is a critical role at the heart of our housing service working with residents facing complex challenges and ensuring the right support is in place to prevent tenancy breakdown and improve outcomes.
You will lead a team delivering structured, coordinated interventions for residents experiencing issues such as mental health, addiction, hoarding, domestic abuse, self-neglect and financial hardship.
About the role
- Lead and manage a team delivering tenancy sustainment support to vulnerable residents
- Provide direction and oversight on high-risk, complex and safeguarding cases
- Ensure effective multi-agency working to coordinate support around residents
- Work closely with partners across housing, health, social care and the voluntary sector
- Drive service performance, ensuring interventions are effective and outcomes are achieved
- Use data, insight and resident feedback to improve service delivery
- Manage resources and budgets effectively, ensuring value for money
- Lead on service development, contributing to policy, strategy and continuous improvement
- Respond to complex enquiries, complaints and stakeholder issues
This role requires someone who can balance compassion with professional judgement, and lead a team to deliver consistent, high-quality support in complex situations.
What we're looking for
- Strong, experienced manager with a background in housing, support or related services
- Experience leading teams supporting residents with complex needs
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding, housing responsibilities and relevant legislation
- Experience managing high-risk and complex cases (e.g. mental health, hoarding, domestic abuse, tenancy risk)
- Ability to work effectively with partners across housing, health and social care
- Strong leadership skills, including performance management and staff development
- Experience using data and insight to drive service improvement
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
