Salary range: Grade 17 (Β£66,378 β Β£68,784 p.a.) plus fantastic benefits

Hours of work: 36 hours per week
Location: Croydon
Croydon Council faces significant financial challenges, and this role is part of the mission to transform the city into a financially sustainable future. You will work within the financial team to support the Director of Finance (Deputy S151 Officer) and the Head of Strategic Finance, and deputise when required.
Responsibilities
- Finance business partner for revenue and capital finance, overseeing financial planning, monitoring and coordination of financial arrangements.
- Lead a finance team consisting of a Principal Accountant and an Accountant.
- Provide business partnering to the Housing Revenue Account (HRA), supporting operational services, transformation initiatives, joint working with tenants and leaseholders, contract management, and asset management strategy.
- Deliver the HRA Business Plan, including capital investment and regeneration opportunities.
- Manage key financial processes: budgeting, monitoring, forecasting, closing of accounts, grants, and statistical returns.
- Collaborate with managers to deliver strong financial management advice in an environment of change.
Qualifications
- CCAB/CIMA accountancy qualification or extensive knowledge and experience of local government finance.
- Evidence of successfully managing key financial processes and advising managers.
- Experience working successfully as part of a professional team.
