Hours of work: 36 hours per week

Location: Croydon

You will work as part of a 24/7 shift rota in the CCTV Control Room. This includes:

  • Monitoring screens for the prevention and detection of crime;
  • Supporting the police via police radio communication;
  • Supporting Council staff and businesses through radio systems and responding to out-of-hours emergency calls on behalf of the Council.

You will provide proactive on-street surveillance using control room technology to prevent crime, disorder, and anti-social behaviour in the Borough. This involves:

  • Communicating tasking requests to frontline officers and out of hours services;
  • Recording all calls and taskings on CRM;
  • Assisting in reviewing CCTV digital material;
  • Issuing copies and statements for court;
  • Acting as a Disclosure Officer.

Good communication and customer service skills are essential for handling difficult calls and managing sensitive situations.

Shift rota: The team works on a rolling pattern covering 365 days, including early, late, and night shifts, as well as weekends and bank holidays.
