About The Role: An opportunity has arisen to join Croydon’s award winning Temporary Accommodation, Homeless Hostel Team responsible for supporting residents in times of difficulty and crisis. The Building Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that services are delivered to Croydon’s Temporary Accommodation Households.

The successful applicant will be responsible for providing a housing management service to a number of temporary accommodation properties for homeless applicants and service users with mental health needs. This includes the admissions to and discharges from accommodation within the units and maintenance and upkeep of the buildings. Responsibilities include:

  • Issuing keys and ensuring residents understand their responsibilities.
  • Managing behaviour of residents and reporting to back office staff.
  • Serving NTQ and proceeding to court as required.
  • Managing bed spaces and rooms to minimize void periods and maximize rental income.
  • Observing health and safety standards, ensuring the welfare of the residents is prioritized.
  • Completing void inspections and relevant forms to ensure H&S and repairs have been noted accurately.
  • Preparing court papers and proceeding to court to act for the council as required.
