Croydon Council’s Live Well service is an integrated health behaviour change 12-week programme that offers residents help and support to maintain a healthy weight, stop smoking, and drink less alcohol. Smoking, obesity, physical inactivity, and excessive alcohol consumption are responsible for around 30% of the disease burden and are associated with major causes of morbidity and mortality. These behaviours are influenced by complex interactions between a person’s social, economic, and environmental circumstances.

The work involves developing and delivering interventions across various localities, utilizing community assets, and ensuring the service is accessible and meets community needs. You will also lead prevention efforts related to Adult Healthy Behaviours, particularly smoking, weight management, and alcohol.
You will identify opportunities to enhance the programme\’s visibility and embed prevention in policies, as well as establish links with the NHS Health Checks programme (e.g., referral pathways).
This post is within the Adult, Social Care and Health Directorate and is an excellent secondment opportunity.
