Salary range: Grade 10 - 11 £43,680 - £49,056 (depending on experience) Pro rata - plus compulsory car user allowance

Croydon has a vacancy for an experienced and motivated investigator with a sound understanding of legal process who has proven knowledge of Trading standards legislation. This is a small, busy and driven team whose priorities include protecting and safeguarding vulnerable persons, investigating illicit tobacco cases, preventing under-age sales, dealing robustly with incidents of rogue traders, and undertaking essential product safety work, as well as running a wide range of other projects to suit local, regional and national priorities.
We work closely with partner agencies with whom we enjoy positive working relationships and have an excellent reputation for undertaking ground-breaking initiatives and achieving outstanding results. Strong communication skills with an ability to work under pressure, both as part of a team and independently are a must. The postholder will lead on community and partner engagement work and will have proven skills in this area. Applicants must hold a relevant Trading Standards qualification.
