Salary range: Grade 6 (ÂŁ35,520 - ÂŁ36,585) p.a. plus fantastic benefits

Location: Croydon

We’re offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic person to join our busy and dynamic Events Team here in Croydon. The Events Team work with event organisers and a range of council and external partners to ensure commercial and public events throughout the borough are enjoyed by all, run to meet the highest possible standards of safety, and cause minimal disruption to the local community.

Croydon is a vibrant, well connected South London Borough with some of the most beautiful parks and green spaces in London, some of which have achieved “Green Flag” status. It is culturally very diverse which is reflected in the types of events the team facilitates. These include Pride, Mela, Food festivals as well as large music festivals. In 2023, Croydon was awarded the Mayor of London’s Borough of Culture status.

Our successful candidate will be expected to hit the ground running, supporting the Event officers with the administrative functions around working with event organisers and partner agencies for small scale and larger public events. Establishing strong working relationships is crucial for the role. A background in working with financial and administrative systems is a must as is an ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines. The successful candidate will be required to work some evenings, weekends and on a flexible basis. Use of their own transport would be helpful although Croydon is well served by Public Transport.
