The post holder will play a key role in supporting the delivery of the Children, Young People and Education Directorate's transformation plan; Helping Families Thrive. This will include influencing strategic decision making, delivering on project milestones, assessing and mitigating corporate risk, and presenting progress to senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver key projects within the transformation plan.
  • Accountability for project governance and delivery.
  • Achieve savings targets.
  • Effective use of transformation investments.
  • Occasional ad hoc support for additional work.
  • Work with the transformation team to ensure appropriate demand and growth management strategies are incorporated into the Children, Young People and Education improvement plan.
  • Support the Council's input into partnership work across health, social care and schools.

About You

  • Degree level or equivalent qualification / experience.
  • Knowledge of project management and improvement methodologies concepts, principles and practices gained through extensive experience and development.
  • Ability to work with high level internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in a children's social care or education setting and up-to-date knowledge of main national policy drivers for children's services.
  • Experience of providing projects and workstreams within a dynamic and changing environment.
  • Experience of programme and/or project management.
  • Experience of modelling analysis and business case development; experience of equality impact assessments.
  • Change management and integration experience.
  • Experience of service remodelling and transformation within children's social care or education.
