John Wood School & Nursery (Part of Chancery Education Trust) is looking for an enthusiastic and committed Class Teacher to join our dedicated team from September 2026. The successful candidate will contribute to a positive and ambitious learning environment, working collaboratively with colleagues to drive standards and outcomes across the school.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high‑quality teaching across the primary curriculum
- Plan engaging and inclusive lessons that meet the needs of all learners
- Assess, monitor and track pupil progress to ensure strong outcomes
- Maintain high expectations of behaviour, achievement and presentation
- Contribute to raising standards through effective teaching and use of assessment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to support teaching and learning across KS1/KS2
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and the wider school community
- Contribute to the wider life and ethos of the school
Key Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Experience teaching within KS1 or KS2 (or relevant training for Early Career Teachers)
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and effective teaching strategies
- Ability to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Proven or developing ability to deliver consistently strong teaching and secure good pupil outcomes
- High expectations for pupil achievement and behaviour
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to continuous professional development
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
