Assistant Intelligence Analyst – CE & Missing Intelligence Team

Salary: Grade 9 £42,060-£43,680

Permanent – 36 hours per week, Hybrid – 3 office days / 2 working from home days.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to support the response to all Ofsted inspections (including thematic), peer‑to‑peer evaluation and all other quality assurance activities. The successful candidate will work with intelligence leads from police, health, education, youth offending and the voluntary sector to gather intelligence in relation to vulnerable children and be responsible for data management and performance information gathered from the Multi‑Agency Child Exploitation (MACE) process and National Referral Mechanism (NRM). One of the key aspects of this role is to be able to identify patterns, information as well as individuals who may exploit children. The appointed candidate will manage the data and performance information gathered from MACE and manage oversight of the missing children’s process including daily, weekly and monthly missing reports. You will also focus on the development of analytics in relation to missing children, supporting the implementation of quality assurance methodologies to further develop practice.

About You

  • Understanding of relevant legislation including GDPR, an awareness and understanding of the impact of equal opportunity issues with experience of handling sensitive and confidential data.
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of the impact of child exploitation on children and families.
  • Good level IT skills, particularly in using Microsoft Excel and SharePoint to analyse, manipulate and record complex datasets.
  • Ability to investigate data quality issues and create solutions to improve the reliability of information.
  • Tenacity and resilience in facing up to obstacles and problem solving.
  • Well‑organised and flexible in approach to work and deliver results under pressure.
  • Good experience of a data analysis and administrative role, preferably in a public sector.
