Overview
Skills Coach will provide teaching and assessment to apprentices and learners working towards individual qualifications and apprenticeship standards across various environments, including college and the workplace. They will manage a caseload to ensure timely completion of qualifications, through scheduled block and day-release sessions at college and carry out assessment visits at the apprentice’s place of work. The Skills Coach is responsible for completing tripartite progress reviews with apprentices and employers and for all scheduled tasks and milestones as detailed on the apprenticeship training plan.
Responsibilities
- Provide teaching and assessment to apprentices and learners working towards individual qualifications and apprenticeship standards across various environments, including college and the workplace.
- Manage a caseload to ensure timely completion of qualifications, through scheduled block and day-release sessions at college and carry out assessment visits at the apprentice’s place of work.
- Complete tripartite progress reviews with apprentices and employers and manage all scheduled tasks and milestones as detailed on the apprenticeship training plan.
Qualifications and experience
- Knowledge of apprenticeships and local/national skills needs.
- Knowledge of end point assessment and awarding.
- Experience in coaching or assessing apprentices.
- Level 3 Plumbing qualification.
- ACS Gas qualification (or willingness to work towards one).
- Teaching qualification (or willingness to obtain).
