The Director of Governance is a key role, supporting the Governing Body to meet high standards of governance, which in turn supports the college in meeting its corporate strategy. The role will include fulfilling legal or regulatory requirements and will play an important role in communication between the Governing Body and executive managers.

The role will also be responsible for guidance and support to the Governing Body, its committees, and to the Chair on corporate governance issues. This includes providing independent guidance on the operation of the powers of the Governing Body and statutory, constitutional and procedural matters.

You should have a first degree, or equivalent, and a qualification in a governance related subject (or equivalent relevant experience). You will also have significant experience of taking responsibility for meeting statutory, procedural, regulatory and policy requirements e.g. Instrument and Articles of Governance. You should have experience of providing authoritative advice and guidance at Board and Executive level, and an ability to develop positive working relationships with individuals at all levels.
