Title
Kitchen and Restaurant Manager
Salary: £25,274 per annum (FTE). This will be pro rated down to 40 Weeks Term Time only contract.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the management and support of College’s academic kitchens, restaurant and bar areas liaising as necessary with academic and management staff to ensure the efficient and safe operation of all programmes.
- Support all practical and hospitality sessions for the academic Hospitality team.
- Manage and organise Hospitality events in liaison with the academic and service departments.
- Responsible for the annual department budget for foodstuffs, equipment and consumables including stock management, stock control and establishing recommendations for capital replacements as necessary to line managers.
- Manage the department Domestic Assistant / Technician post, ensuring that all duties including cleaning and hygiene standards are maintained at all times for academic activities and events.
- Health & Safety – accountable for the health and safety of the practical work area, managing and enforcing health & safety procedures and compliance, including adherence to statutory food safety and sanitation guidelines for students, staff and visitors.
- Safe storage, preparation, serving, and disposal of all foodstuff; adherence to high standards of food quality, presentation and procedures.
- Robust cleaning, waste and pest control standards; equipment and machinery maintenance and safe operation according to manufacturer guidelines.
- Hazardous substances management and documentation; fire safety and housekeeping standards; risk assessments in place and current.
- Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with legislation and college policies in liaison with the College H&S advisor.
- All health & safety concerns and accidents reported and recorded; relevant documentation maintained and up to date.
- Appropriate student supervision and instruction; all knowledge and training current; attend training and CPD as required by job demands.
