You will be responsible for assisting in the overall running of the Front Office, ensuring an efficient and effective operation, and striving for 100% customer satisfaction.
The role involves working within our busy Front Office environment, ensuring our guests receive the highest level of service. Night Receptionist responsibilities include:
- Providing a warm welcome to all guests on their arrival and assisting them in a courteous, helpful manner.
- Ensuring all accounting and billing procedures as laid down by Hotel management are adhered to at all times.
- Liaising with the Housekeeping department concerning room availability.
- Dealing with any customer comments in a polite and pleasant manner, resolving complaints wherever possible.
- Answering the Hotel switchboard in a polite and courteous manner using the standard greeting set by the Hotel.
- Ensuring all inquiries are forwarded to the relevant department.
- Forwarding all potential leads to the Sales Manager and supporting the Sales Office in maximising occupancy.
- Maintaining security over Hotel property and monies as well as anything deposited at Reception by Hotel guests.
- Carrying out check-in/out following hotel procedures and policies.
- Ensuring that all areas are presented in the agreed standard.
- Following hotel policies and procedures regarding 'Walk-in' Bookings.
- Ensuring the security of the Hotel by completing security checks of the Hotel and grounds to the standard set by the Hotel, reporting any discrepancies immediately.
- Carrying out Night Audit, ensuring any discrepancies are resolved or reported.
- Being responsible for accounting tasks and ensuring the working station is cleared.
- Maintaining constant liaison with Front Office.
- Arranging transport for customers and offering luggage assistance when required.
- Ordering and delivering newspapers to the guests' rooms each morning.
- Taking Room Service Orders and cooking and delivering to guests according to Brand Service Standards.
The ideal candidate should have at least one year of experience working in a similar position. Knowledge of Opera would be an advantage.
