- MEETING & EVENTS MANAGER AT OUR HOTEL
What you'll be doing..
- Lead the day-to-day management of the Meetings & Events department, ensuring the smooth planning and delivery of conferences, meetings, weddings, private functions and corporate events.
- Manage the full client journey from initial enquiry and site visit through to event delivery, post-event follow-up and repeat business.
- Drive Meetings & Events revenue through strong enquiry conversion, upselling, proactive sales activity and effective management of function space.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with corporate clients, event agencies, conference organisers and local businesses.
- Ensure all contracts, function sheets/BEOs, rooming lists and event details are accurate and communicated effectively across hotel departments.
- Chair weekly function meetings and work closely with Operations, Reservations, Revenue and Sales teams to ensure seamless event execution.
- Lead, motivate and develop the Meetings & Events team, driving high standards of customer service, commercial performance and accountability.
- Manage departmental forecasts, sales pipelines, budgets and performance reporting, identifying opportunities to maximise revenue and profitability.
- Maintain and optimise Meetings & Events platforms including Cvent, Meeting Broker, Venue Directory, Smart Space and Hitched.
- Represent the hotel at networking events, exhibitions, client showcases and other business development opportunities.
What We Need from You
- Minimum 3 years' experience within Meetings & Events, Conference & Banqueting Sales or Hotel Sales Management.
- Strong commercial awareness with a proven ability to convert enquiries and grow Meetings & Events revenue.
- Experience using Opera PMS and Meetings & Events/Sales & Catering systems.
- Excellent organisation, communication and relationship-building skills with strong attention to detail.
- A confident and engaging leader who can motivate a team and work collaboratively across hotel departments.
- Experience managing large or complex conferences, events and functions within a hotel environment would be highly desirable.
