About the Role
At Crown Fine Art, we specialise in the safe handling, transportation, and installation of priceless artworks. The Deputy Head of Gallery Services is responsible for supporting the strategic and operational leadership of Crown Fine Art’s Gallery Services activities. The role carries account-level responsibility for the governance of Crown Fine Art’s gallery relationships, including the consistent management of client accounts, service standards, commercial performance, operational risk and regulatory compliance. The Deputy Head will also maintain effective management controls across the Gallery Services team, providing clear directions, appropriate oversight and measurable performance standards. The role is expected to lead from the front, support continuous improvement and contribute actively to the growth, profitability and reputation of the Fine Art business.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain overall governance of allocated gallery accounts and Crown Fine Art’s wider gallery relationship-management activities.
- Establish clear account ownership, responsibilities, approval levels and escalation routes.
- Ensure client instructions, quotations, operational commitments and commercial agreements are appropriately reviewed and authorised.
- Maintain effective controls over account activity, including pricing, expenditure, credit terms, invoicing, aged debt, service performance and operational risk.
- Ensure that account records, client requirements, agreed rates, service expectations and key decisions are accurately documented and kept current.
- Conduct regular account reviews to assess service quality, financial performance, operational issues, risks and future opportunities.
- Ensure corrective actions arising from account reviews, client feedback, service failures or internal audits are assigned, monitored and completed.
- Escalate significant commercial, operational, compliance or reputational risks to the Head of Gallery and Museums.
- Provide accurate management information relating to account performance, service delivery, profitability, resource requirements and emerging risks.

The successful candidate will have previous supervisory/managerial experience in a similar role within the Fine Art industry, or similar logistics area, coupled with the ability to multi-task and maintain clear and concise records. You will have excellent communication, project management, analytical and administration skills, an eye for detail, energy, flexibility and self-motivation to assist your team and manager. It is essential you have a good knowledge of Microsoft packages and are prepared to work as a team member and to tight deadlines.
