About the Role
The Driver / Porter is responsible for expertly packing, preparing, and protecting items for moves, ensuring compliance with regulations. The role involves handling delicate and high-value goods, assembling custom crates, assisting with furniture dismantling and reassembly, and efficiently loading and unloading items. Working closely with the removals and warehouse teams under supervision, the Porter adheres to health and safety standards, maintains accurate documentation, and delivers courteous, professional service to clients throughout the moving process.
What You’ll Do
- Expertly pack, wrap, and protect items—including delicate and high-value goods—for domestic and international moves, ensuring compliance with export regulations.
- Assemble custom crates and packaging and assist with dismantling and reassembling furniture and fixtures as needed.
- Safely load and unload goods, strictly following health and safety standards and manual handling procedures.
- Ensure vehicle checks are completed at the start and end of every day.
- Ensure the load is safety secured for transportation.
- Collaborate effectively with removals and warehouse teams, adhering to instructions and utilising relevant software systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation and inventories, while providing courteous and professional service to clients throughout the process.
What We’re Looking For
- Removals industry experience preferred – as will involve carrying, lifting and moving.
- Hold a full clean UK Driving licence.
- Experience driving a 3.5T (Luton) vehicle.
- Conscientious, organised and hardworking attitude.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Flexibility with the ability to multitask.
- Self-motivator.
- Clear and precise communication skills.
