Summary: We are seeking an experienced Jetvac recycler operator & Jetting assistant to join our team in our newly established Southern Operating base located in Shipton Bellinger near Amesbury. These roles are vital in supporting our mission to provide exceptional surveying and civil engineering solutions. As part of our team, you will contribute to the delivery of our highway survey & remediation projects.
Please note that pay rates are basic day rates and a 30% uplift is provided for night working. The majority of works will be working at night.
As an HGV Jetter Driver, you will play a key role in maintaining and cleaning drainage systems on the UK's road network. Operating high-pressure jetting equipment, you will ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery while adhering to all health and safety standards. This role will be operating our Jetter/recycling unit. Working as part of a team operating our high specification Recycler, you will support our client across the UK carrying out cleaning, desilting, root cutting and associated CCTV where necessary.
This is a permanent full-time position and can be based across the Midlands or South of the country operating out of depots in Telford and Amesbury. Albeit, from time to time you may be required to work away from home in other regions of the country. You will be allocated a works vehicle and will be responsible for the general cleanliness and safe keeping of the vehicle. You will be required to undertake daily inspections of the vehicle reporting any defects.
Principal Duties:
- You will be fully responsible for the vehicle.
- You will be responsible for the safe operation of the jetting works whilst working on site. Special consideration must be given to working alongside colleagues/clients/general public.
- You will be working closely in a team of 2 operating high specification jetting and vacuum units.
- Liaising with clients and internal teams to report findings and recommend solutions relating to the clearance of blockages/damage.
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used.
- Performing routine checks and basic maintenance on jetting equipment and vehicles.
Other Responsibilities:
- Monitor the safety of your activities & operations, observation of High Pressure Water Jetting (HPWJ) safety protocols, company safe working practices, employee welfare and the environmental impact associated with the works being undertaken.
- Monitor the works and ensure that all shift reports are submitted in accordance with scheme requirements.
- Ensure that you wear all of the necessary PPE and this is kept in a good condition. This must be replaced if it becomes worn or damaged.
- Ensure that you comply with all recognised safe working practices during works.
- Ensure that you have seen and been briefed on all site-specific risk assessments and method statements prior to any site works being undertaken.
- Ensure that you attend all pre-shift briefings.
- Ensure that you adhere to all company H&S requirements.
- Ensure that you adhere to all company Drug and alcohol policies.
- Ensure your relevant competencies are kept up to date by liaising with HR department.

Qualifications & Training:
- Valid HGV Class 1 or 2 (Category C) driving license with no more than 6 points.
- Valid CSCS/CPCS card. (Mandatory)
- Safety Critical Medical (optional).
- High-pressure water jetting training (Mandatory).
- First Aid certificate (optional).
- Experience in drainage or utilities work (Mandatory).
- National Highways Passport Holder (Optional).
Skills & Competencies:
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Good communication and reporting skills.
General:
- Work a 10 hour shift.
- Willing to work primarily nights (Mon-Fri).
- Willing to work away from home (Mon-Fri).
