Crown Oil Environmental is seeking an experienced EEMUA 159 Tank Integrity Assessor to join our growing inspection division. The role involves carrying out EEMUA 159 assessments on above-ground cylindrical storage tanks, including corrosion assessment, remaining life calculations, fitness-for-service evaluations, and inspection interval recommendations. Working as the competent assessor, you will produce detailed technical reports and provide engineering recommendations to support the safe operation of storage assets across a range of industrial sites throughout the UK. Key Responsibilities
- Carry out EEMUA 159 inspections and assessments on above-ground cylindrical storage tanks.
- Assess tank condition, corrosion rates, remaining life and fitness for continued service.
- Determine and recommend future inspection intervals in accordance with EEMUA 159 guidelines.
- Produce detailed inspection reports and recommendations for repair, remediation or replacement.
- Conduct inspections across customer sites throughout the UK.
- Liaise directly with customers, site representatives and engineering teams.
- Ensure all inspection equipment remains calibrated, maintained and fit for purpose.
- Support the growth and development of the inspection division.
- Assist in developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Identify opportunities for additional inspection and integrity services.
- Work closely with internal engineering and operational teams to deliver a high-quality service offering.
Essential Requirements
- Current EEMUA 159 Tank Assessor certification.
- Proven experience carrying out EEMUA 159 assessments and producing technical reports.
- Strong understanding of above-ground cylindrical storage tank design, construction and integrity management.
- Experience assessing corrosion, remaining life calculations and inspection frequencies.
- Ability to make sound engineering judgements and recommendations regarding tank fitness for service.
- Good engineering knowledge and practical inspection experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Willingness to travel throughout the UK.
Desirable Requirements
- API 570 certification or pipework inspection experience.
- Experience leading, mentoring or developing inspection personnel.
- Commercial awareness and client-facing experience.
- Experience supporting business growth and service development.
- Knowledge of RAMS preparation and site safety documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel for technical reporting and calculations.
