Job summary
Crown Medical Practice are currently looking for a part time, temporary Medical Receptionist to join our fantastic team. We are looking for an excellent communicator with good IT and administrative skills to join our very busy reception team at Crown Medical Practice. The hours of work will be 2pm until 6.30pm Monday to Friday.
Main duties of the job
You will carry out the duties in the job description, which includes:
Greeting patients in a friendly manner and responding to their requests
Arranging suitable appointments for patients
Answering and dealing with telephone enquiries. Scanning clinical letters on to patients records.
Liaising with Doctors, Nurses and other members of the team to provide aquality service for patients.

Job summary:
Receive, assist and direct patients inaccessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous,efficient and effective way.
Providegeneral assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendlyimage to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone
Undertakea variety of administrative duties to assist in the smooth running of thepractice.
Facilitateeffective communication between patients, members the primary health care team,secondary care and other associated healthcare agencies
Reception responsibilities:
Ensurean effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and anyother visitors to the practice
Dealwith all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-upappointments.
Usingyour own judgment and communication skills ensure that patients with no priorappointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical andnon-disruptive manner.
Explainpractice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seekingtemporary cover and ensure procedures are completed.
Receiveand make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and promptappropriate delivery.
Advisepatients of relevant charges for private (non General Medical Services)services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
Enterpatient information on to the computer as required.
Makeand serve refreshments, ensure the kitchen is kept clean and tidy and air andtidy the waiting room in turn with other staff.
Contribution to the implementation of services:
Thepost-holder will:

  • Apply practice policies, standards and guidance
  • Discuss with other members of the team how the policies, standards and guidelines will affect own work
  • Participate in audit where appropriate
