As a Battery Service Engineer you will carry out service and repairs to all battery equipment on customer sites in a safe, professional, and cost‑effective manner, maintaining documentation of all work in line with Health and Safety and Quality procedures. The role involves working to a planned schedule of service and maintenance jobs at client premises, ensuring van stock is monitored and sufficient for day‑to‑day maintenance of the fleet.

  • Carry out repair, inspection and quotation of customer battery equipment and accessories.
  • Accurately complete job sheets, timesheets and purchase requisitions within required timescales.
  • Take responsibility for all equipment and tooling (van, laptop, tablet, etc.) and ensure it is in a safe condition for the work undertaken.
  • Work to strict planned schedules and deadlines.
  • Diagnose faults to a component level.

To be considered you should have knowledge of at least two of the following areas and be willing to receive additional training:

  • Mechanical engineering
  • Electrical engineering
  • Hydraulics
  • Battery, Charger & Battery Change systems

The role covers the South of England; applicants from anywhere located in the South are welcome.

Essential Skills

  • Must hold full UK Driving Licence.
  • Knowledge of Battery, Charger & Change systems.
  • Proficient fault finding and repair.
  • Education allowing a grade C in English and maths at GCSE.
  • Experience of Health & Safety requirements in a workshop setting.
