We are delivering the full MEP scope for a major data centre development in Slough and are looking for an experienced Senior Commissioning Manager to lead the commissioning strategy and delivery across all MEP systems.

This is a technically complex, mission‑critical project where resilience, reliability, and operational performance are critical to successful delivery.

As Senior Commissioning Manager, you will take ownership of the commissioning programme from planning through to final handover, lead multidisciplinary commissioning teams, coordinate specialist contractors and consultants, and ensure all systems are tested, validated, and handed over in line with programme and client requirements.

What will I be doing?

  • Lead the delivery of the commissioning programme for MEP systems on a major data centre project.
  • Develop and implement the Commissioning Execution Plan, including commissioning methodology, sequencing, resource planning, and programme integration.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities across subcontractors, consultants, client representatives and internal project teams.

• Manage all phases of commissioning, including

  • Static Completion
  • Pre‑Functional Testing
  • Functional Performance Testing
  • Integrated Systems Testing (IST)
  • Building Performance Testing
  • Oversee Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) and on‑site commissioning activities.
  • Commission critical electrical and mechanical infrastructure, including HV/LV systems, UPS, standby generators, cooling systems, BMS, EPMS and life safety systems.
  • Ensure compliance with BSRIA, CIBSE, CSA Commissioning Management standards, IET Regulations, client commissioning requirements and industry best practice.
  • Monitor commissioning progress, manage risks and programme impacts, and provide clear reporting to project leadership.
  • Ensure commissioning documentation, test records, O&M manuals and handover documentation are completed accurately and in line with project requirements.
  • Promote safe systems of work and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, quality and environmental compliance.
  • Support integrated testing, client witnessing, operator training, seasonal commissioning and post‑handover activities.

What do we look for?

  • Extensive experience delivering commissioning on complex MEP projects, ideally within data centres or other mission‑critical environments.
  • Strong technical understanding of building services design, operation and commissioning processes.
  • Experience commissioning critical electrical and mechanical systems.
  • CSA Grade 6, CM2 accreditation or equivalent commissioning management experience.
  • Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary commissioning teams.
  • Excellent communication, planning, stakeholder management and reporting skills.
  • Ability to develop structured commissioning strategies and successfully deliver complex technical programmes.
