We\’re on the look out for an Electrical Construction Lead to take a pivotal role in the delivery of astate-of-the-art new hospital development in Cambridge, one of the UK\’s most ambitious healthcare projects where we are leading the full MEP delivery from design through to installation, commissioning, and handover.
This is a senior leadership opportunity, requiring a highly experienced professional who can own electrical installation delivery from the front. You\’ll lead a sizeable team, motivate supervisors and trades, and work closely with the wider site leadership team to ensure day-to-day progress and quality are never compromised.
What You\’ll Be Doing
- Leading the end-to-end delivery of the electrical installation workstream for the hospital project.
- Driving productivity through effective coordination, performance tracking and hands-on leadership of site teams.
- Working with planners, engineers, and commercial teams to maintain momentum across programme milestones.
- Managing day-to-day site logistics, material readiness, resource allocation and installation progress.
- Ensuring the workforce is clear on priorities, quality expectations and deadlines—keeping things moving.
- Taking accountability for technical compliance, quality standards, and health & safety.
- Being the key escalation point for electrical installation queries, issues and decisions.
What We\’re Looking For
- A senior site delivery professional with strong electrical trade or engineering background.
- Proven experience delivering major MEP or healthcare schemes, ideally from Tier 1 or principal contractor side.
- Natural leader who thrives in fast-paced site environments and knows how to get the best from people.
- Technically sound with a strong understanding of hospital requirements, containment systems, switchgear, power distribution, and electrical services integration.
- Able to manage large teams and subcontractors, while interfacing with project managers, engineers and consultants.
- Clear communicator with an eye for detail and a relentless drive to keep work progressing.
What You\’ll Bring
- Strong delivery track record on large-scale MEP or hospital builds.
- Electrical background (apprenticeship, HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Authoritative leadership style with a focus on safe, quality-driven progress.
- Experience managing large electrical teams (internal and subcontracted).
- Confidence to lead in client-facing situations and represent the electrical workstream professionally.
