Due to in-house promotion and development, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time, confident, positive and enthusiastic person to join our Data Quality Team. The successful candidate will be required to have a good work ethic with strong communication, focusing on quality, professionalism and confidentiality. Excellent IT skills are essential requirements for this post, making a valuable contribution to the overall performance of the Practice.

Alongside having excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a busy and varied workload, the candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team. Overall, this is a varied and important role within a busy, supportive practice environment, requiring strong IT literacy, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to maintaining high standards of data quality and patient record keeping. The post is offered as a fixed-term contract until December 2027; however, due to ongoing in-house development, there may be an opportunity for the role to extend from this date to a permanent contract.

Main duties of the job:
  • The Data Quality Administrator will work within the team to achieve the practice QoF and enhanced service specifications for generating practice income, promoting safety for the team to maintain quality for the Practice by undertaking searches, systems audits, following the practice recall system and updating practice templates as required.
  • Ensuring accuracy of clinical coding in order to capture clinical information to achieve the various contractual specifications.
Job responsibilities:
  • Provide data quality support across the practice.
  • Maintain good quality of data recorded.
  • Ensure the efficient running of the practice computer system, carrying out searches, audits and recalls as required by the practice.
  • Interrogate and present data for audit purposes, clearly and concisely.
  • Set up and maintain clinical templates and referral letters.
  • Effectively monitor patient call and recall systems.
  • Responsible for maintaining and ensuring practice achievement of QoF or other incentivised contracts held.
  • Read coding information into the practice clinical system consistently and accurately.
  • Ensure accurate report output.
  • Investigate routine data improvement enquiries/queries and provide assistance and advice as required.
  • Identify data quality trends and assess common themes through regular use of data quality queries and reporting, and highlight areas for improvement/inaccuracies to the Data Quality and IT Lead to improve processes or resolve problems.
  • Assist and participate with regular Data Quality Audits using clinical systems.
  • Ensure enhanced service claims are made correctly and appropriately.
  • Effectively keep and maintain records of claims for payment.
  • Provide audit statistics to the ICB/NHSE or other governing bodies when required.
  • Support the sustainable improvement in data quality across the practice IT systems (e.g. through the output of data quality audits).
  • Use own judgement to resolve data improvement issues.
  • Keep abreast of relevant guidance in relation to data quality practices and contracts.
  • Be able to work without supervision, but feel confident to seek advice when needed.
  • Summarising of patient medical records following practice protocols.
  • Be a contributing member of the Data Quality Team.
  • Prepare statistical or data reports as requested by the practice.
  • Process and keep safeguarding records in accordance with practice policy.
  • Support and guide members of staff in the use of the computer system.
  • Report faults to software supplier.
  • Attend meetings relevant to the post.
  • Minute meetings where required.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all clinical data handled, including the safe keeping of all health records.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to all issues concerned within the service and adhere to the requirements of the Data Protection Act 1984, Information Governance and Caldicott Principles.
  • Undertake any other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by management or partners.
Person Specification:Qualifications:
  • Educated to A level or equivalent.
  • Higher Level Business or Administration Qualification.
Skills:
  • Fully competent in the use of Microsoft Office.
  • Effective time management (Planning and Organising).
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously.
  • Problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to follow policy and procedure.
  • Good time management and must be able to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills.
