We are now looking to recruit a Production Engineer - Metal Forming (DWI 2-Piece Can) within our Project Engineering team Bevcan EMA, based at one of our European plant locations. The scope of the role is to support the 12 manufacturing locations in Europe (UK, France, Spain, Italy, Slovakia, Greece, Germany and Turkey) and 5 in the Middle East and North Africa (UAE, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia). You will also be involved in project work at new greenfield sites and newly acquired manufacturing locations.
Your mission in Crown is to participate in all the activities of the Metal Forming within the Mechanical Project Engineering Team in order to improve all standards of the manufacturing processes in terms of quality, cost and efficiency. The primary areas of activity and responsibility will include:
- Coil Handling
- Cupping system
- Bodymakers
- Trimmers
- Necker
- Flanger
- Reformer
- Die sets
- Tooling
- Lubricants applied in the forming process
You promote the development of SOP’s, Best Practices and Cost Reduction Programmes. You deliver classroom and hands-on training of Metal Forming equipment and processes. You are liaising with CROWN Technology on equipment, tooling, materials and process improvements and standardisation of specifications.
The successful candidate has a sound engineering background or is qualified to ONC, HNC, HND or degree level. You are highly experienced in 2pc engineering and process knowledge, with a safety mind-set. You have the ability to acquire and utilise knowledge in the specific areas of cupping, bodymaking and necking. You are able to show proven ability to communicate clearly and concisely at all levels and you demonstrate a logical approach, high levels of problem-solving and effective decision-making skills. A self-starter, you are an effective team player, with strong leadership and interpersonal skills. You are also computer literate. You are flexible to travel at short notice and for extended periods overseas, with the willingness to adapt to different cultures and circumstances.
